Looking for an inspiring place to grow your craft business?
Studio Space at The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation is now available!
The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation provides emerging artists with reasonably priced studio space in a cooperative environment designed to accelerate the growth of new craft enterprises. Studies show that businesses that have completed an incubation program are much more likely to succeed than those that have not.
If you are an emerging craftsperson, near the beginning of your career in craft (no age restrictions apply), and you intend to pursue a career as a professional craftsperson in Newfoundland and Labrador then we would love to hear from you.
Please contact Sherry House, Craft Enterprise Facilitator, for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org or (709) 570-2178.
Standing on its own picturesque wharf in an iconic fishing community, the Quidi Vidi Village Plantation is a unique marriage of cultural interpretation and contemporary craft creation. Built to reflect the fishing stages and fish plants that have occupied the site since the 1600s, the Plantation is a modern adaptation of traditional craft instruction.
The Plantation serves as a craft enterprise incubator for emerging artists wishing to pursue careers as professional craftspeople in Newfoundland and Labrador. Ideally situated in the fishing outport of Quidi Vidi Village within the city limits of St. John’s, the Plantation also functions as a destination for those wishing to explore a unique corner of one of the oldest cities in North America.
Visitors to the Plantation are welcome to watch, interact with, and support our craftspeople as they produce unique handmade items in a wide variety of mediums.
The building also houses the office of the Quidi Vidi Village Foundation and archival collection. You won't find a more enthusiastic and welcoming group of people anywhere, so please stop in to say Hello
